The goal of the Project is the design, development, manufacturing and verification of a Fabry-Perot Optical-Based fuel monitoring system capable of measuring the fuel tank level and differential pressure of the fuel tanks from the aircraft able to operate at aero-environmental conditions and communicate with the Flight Control Computers and Mission Computers through avionic buses. Pressure and temperature Fabry Perot optical sensors and Electronic Control Unit are the main parts of the equipment.
Optical technology provides EMI/EMC immunity, Nuclear Pulse radiation immunity and fuel ignition avoidance due to electrical sparks, three competitive technical advantages against existing solutions.
